Personally, i use Pennzoil Ultra Platium 0w20 because (1) they don't make Pennzoil Ultra Platium 0w16 and (2) i like to step on it sometimes and my manual says this.
If i was always driving miss daisy and the climate would be milder, i don't think i'd have problems using 0w8 in the Prius. But i hate to switch brands of oils for some reasons and i won't use a 0w8 that will get severely fuel diluted during winter.
