'06 Subaru overfilled...problem?

Here's the situation:

This is in regards to my wife's Subaru Forester 2.5X NA

Last week I drained whatever 5w30 the used car dealer put in, in favor of Rotella T6 5w-40, half a can Mos2, and 10 oz MMO. She drove to work , about 100 miles, stopped at a gas station and checked the oil level. Noticing the dipstick was not quite to "F", she proceeded to add 3/4 of a quart of GC as top off

So the vehicle is now 1/2 quart overfilled. Should I drain or is half a quart no big deal? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't worry about 1/2 qt.

.5 qts should not be an issue. I run a larger than stock oil filter and use a full 5qts of oil in mine. It probably holds 4.5-4.7qts realistically. At the end of my OCI of 5k miles it burns that 1/2qt and everything is perfect.

you will be fine, that is quite the concoktion you brewed up there...any reason for not just running straight oil in the car?

Thanks! I ask because I was once told by a mechanic that Overfilling is just as bad as underfilling.

BTW: I plan on getting a used oil analysis done in 4500m on the Rotella/Mos2/MMO combo.

LOL "Concoction" is the very word I use as well. This is an experiment. 4 quarts T6 and (now) 1 quart GC, with some Mos2 and MMO for the extra moly and cold flow properties of MMO. Also running MMO in gas. Looking for more mileage.

For best gas mileage, I'd bring it down to where it should be. Drain some or siphon from the fill tube.

You probably should have used a 5-30 for best gas mileage.

Yeah I have both T6 and "Longtime High Tech" Liqui Moly 5w30 in my stash. I have read so many positive reviews of T6 in Subaru applications that I wanted to try it out. The Liqui Moly goes in next time. I'm a Liqui Moly lover myself.

I would drain some if you are over the maximum notch on the dipstick (above the full line). It's fine if you're below the notch.
