02 Mitsubishi Galant Pictures under valve cover

This is what it looks like under the valve cover. This weekend it was dedicated to tuning up my vehicles. As i was replacing the valve cover gasket, i managed to take some pictures and share them with the BITOG gang. it has 152K miles and in the past 4 OCs its been nothing but Quaker State Defy with a Purolater Classic filter.

TO BE HONEST THE PREVIOUS OILS USED WERE WHAT EVER WAS ON SALE AT AAP. THIS CAR HAS SEEN PENNZOIL, VALVOLINE, QUAKER STATE, MOBIL 1, ALL THESE BRANDS WITH THE OIL FILTER THAT WAS ON SALE. NOW ITS BEEN NOTHING BUT DEFY.

THIS CAR HAS ONLY SEEN SYNTHETIC OIL ONCE!! AND THAT WAS THE MOBIL HIGH MILEAGE 5W-30 WHICH WAS REPLACED 5 OCs AGO. PRIOR TO THAT IT WAS RUNNING CONVENTIONAL VALVOLINE. IVE NEVER SPENT EXTRA ON OIL FILTERS, WHAT EVER CAME WITH THE SALE I TOOK. AND THIS CAR IS THE EVERYDAY CAR. SHORT TRIPS, CITY DRIVING. OC TO ME DONT GO BY MILES, BUT BY MONTHS I DONT PUT 3K WITHIN A 6 MONTH PERIOD. I MEAN TO BE HONEST I WAS SHOCKED MYSELF. I SEEN HOW SOME GUY HERE POST PICS OF THEIR VALVES AND SAY HOW THEY USED THE TOP NOTCH BRAND SYNTHETIC WITH A TOP NOTCH OIL FILTER. THE ONE TIME I DID SPEND MORE WAS WITH THE MOBIL 1 OIL, I BOUGHT A MOBIL 1 FILTER WHICH WAS LIKE 12.99

nope, it ran what ever oil was on sale, this car was passed to me from my father when i was 17 i am now 21 and did the same as he was doing, change the oil when their was a sale at advance, now that im 21 you can see im more of a Quaker State defy fan. Im running nothing but conventional Sopus products from now on.

So whatever oil you used, kept the engine clean. Had nothing to do with Sopus products, you said you ran many different brands, whatever was on sale. It's doubtful that Q.Defy cleaned you motor spotless in 4 changes, it didn't make you engine dirtier either, therefore what we should say is, "All modern conventional oils are capable of keeping Your engine clean."

Looks good. Now do uoa and.you will see that you can push it until you get FAR oil, not just on sale.
Btw, friend of my Father has eclipse v6, his engine looks same thru fill hole. Last time I saw it, he had 120k miles.
