Agreed but the dealer doesn't sell CFMoto oil, just Kawasaki, Yamaha, Polaris etc. What’s wrong with the dealers oil? I mean, I like to run Amsoil in my stuff. But if the machine still has warranty supporting the dealer now will likely have them in your corner if any issues arise…![]()
Would a 5-40 be better? One downside to such a wide viscosity spread is that these oils tend not to remain in grade. Acceptable when new, expect degradation to a 30 viscosity oil in short order.
That's the thing all else being equal (which it almost never is) yes. Some 0W-40 oils are truly superb oils. Since you are in a location where cold weather can be a factor, the lower cold viscosity has advantages.Would a 5-40 be better?
Right now it's in the teens weather wise . No wet clutch. What temp does it have to start in. Also does the manual say anything about wet clutches or does it mention jaso ma? If it's a wet clutch I'd rather use rotella since it has the wet clutch additives. Available in 5/15w-40.
15w is technically good to 4f but I'd still use something better at those temps so it starts easier. Use whatever you want really. I'd use any euro 30/40 year round. Castrol edge euro 5w-30/40 is $25 a jug and usually always stocked on Walmart shelves. I order QS euro but it's only a few bucks less. Mobil 0w-40 is always good.Right now it's in the teens weather wise . No wet clutch.
