    (Sensored!!) GM Dealership woes....

Normally, your attention to your vehicles might have been lauded but you crossed a dealer's golden word. Luckily BITOG's best is here to read you the riot act and tell you "where you went wrong" (I share your pain on NY dealers. Setting new lows in an industry racing to the center of the Earth)

    Tire Shopping Again!

I'm on my 2nd set of Yokohama Avid Ascend (T-rated) on the Odyssey. 1st set went to 50k with very even wear, could've gone longer but I wanted new tread for the winter. I would rate ice and snow traction as excellent for an all-season. In fact it's the best performing all-season in the snow I...

Buying long distance and shipping the car

There are so many clean cars available in FL. As always due diligence is required. Next time I need a used car I'm going back to visit and I'll keep looking until I have something to drive/trailer back up. Shouldn't take long. 5 years in the north and the cars look like trash under the hood...

Thermostat rusty after 7 months installed?

When I bought my 2008 Vibe (1ZZ-FE) a few years ago I swapped out the t-stat with new OEM. Both made in Japan. The one I took out and the one I put it were both, perhaps, less finished as far as metalwork goes than I am used to with current stats. They were not that rusty though. I just took a...

    1.8 Toyota reliability(2016 Corolla)

It's gotta have a transmission cooler. If it does you can do a fluid swap. Making sure the fluid in equals the fluid out would be tricky but not impossible. Or you can go the easier route if you're into maintenance and not buy into a tranny designed to be a PITA to service.

Good choice. What trim did you go with? How would you rate the quality of the interior materials?

Ford may resurrect Ranger & Bronco

My 2k Ranger (reg cab, 4cyl, 5MT) went to 191k nice and easy with only regular maintenance, 1 alternator and 1 fuel injector (oddly enough). Sold it and I hope it's still on the road. I have fond memories of it, plenty of room for a small truck. Key word being "small" which was part of the...

Letting A Car "Sit" As Opposed To "Running It" ?

I would worry most about the battery and the brakes. Fuel stabilizer if more than 2 months of sitting on E10 (or find E0 fuel). New fluid for the brake system every 2 years. Look over all brake components often. Grand-MIL had a 2003 Cav, 28kmi on it. Store to home to store sort of thing. I was...
