Just confirmed with our domestic distributor that they've two GC (0w-30) New version and old version. New version removed API CF, removed diesel engine support, and also removed VW 503.01 long life approval. I don't know why. Maybe the cost reduction? Confusing... confusing... I'll continue to...

Just walked through Castrol Syntec product data sheet. It reads Castrol Syntec 0w-30 meets A3/B3/B4 spec, but in the following data HTHS only reads 2.9. All syntec series only 5w-50 reads 3.9 higher than 3.5, others all lower than 3.5. Back to the list of specs met, 0w-30 (GC), 5w-40, 10w-40...

One more question, Per spec A3/B4, HTHS is supposed to be higher than 3.5. But I just walked through Castrol Syntec series datasheet, finding that HTHS for 0w-30 only reads 2.9. That's quite confusing for me... d00df00d, can you help?

GC can sustain the heat and pressure from turbocharger? If my style of driving is aggressive idling, does GC can sustain 3000 miles?

Viewed most specs like ACEA ILSAC API, they do listed requirements on viscosity at 100, 40, 150 (HTHS). How how shall I determine whether this oil will be friendly to my turbocharged engine? Only meet VW spec by handbook would be ok? Or, are all turbocharged engineer should consider high HTHS...
