    Disappointed in new quick struts

    The passenger side front strut failed on my 2014 Grand Cherokee. Given how complex the job is (I watched a few youtube videos), I brought it to a local trusted shop who replaced both it and the driver's side one with a quick strut assembly. Handling has improved. But I hate the ride now. It's so...

    Raybestos E3 RPT vs Powerstop Geomet (12-month quick review)

    Hey all, In July 2020, I replaced the OEM rotors (and pads) on my Grand Cherokee. I had heard great things from the BITOG community about both the Raybestos and Powerstop coated rotors. So I decided to try them both! Raybestos Element 3 RPT Grey Fusion rotors in the front, and Powertop Geomet...

    Rotors: Raybestos Element3 vs Wagner E-coated

    Finally getting around to doing the brakes (rotors and pads) on my 2014 Grand Cherokee. I thought I had nailed down the rotors (Raybestos Element3 fully coated), but came across a deal on Wagner Premium E-coated rotors and now I'm debating which to go for. Raybestos Element3 fully coated...

    Raybestos rotors - Element3 vs Specialty Truck

    I'm due for a brake job on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Raybestos products are easily obtainable in my area, so I'm going with that brand. I'm debating which Raybestos rotors to go with: Element3 (part number ends with FZN) Front...

    2014 Grand Cherokee differential fluid

    I got ridiculously expensive quotes from various Jeep dealers in my area for "Mopar Gear and Axle Lubricant 75W-85". As such, I'm now looking at going with a 3rd party fluid brand. The front and rear diffs on my Jeep call for Synthetic GL-5 75W-85. My Jeep doesn't have a LSD. What do you guys...

    PC SS 0W-30 SM rated in 3.6 Pentastar?

    I still have a stash of Petro-Canada Supreme Synthetic 0W-30 API SM/CF rated oil. I was wondering if I could use that in my 3.6L Jeep Pentastar engine. I figured since this a new engine that it would require API SN, but I can't find anything that says that. The owner's manual says to use an...

    Ultra = noisier engine?

    I've been running Ultra 5W-30 for the past 2000 KMs in my Jeep Liberty. 3.7L Powertech engine. I've noticed that the engine is much more noisier with Ultra vs GC and Edge that I've ran in the past. Been using the same make/model of filter(Mobil 1 M1-209) with all 3 oils(new filter each time of...

    Argh what's wrong with my brakes?

    The front brakes on my Liberty squeal extremely loud when I drive around, as soon as I press on the brake pedal though, the squeal goes away, let go of pedal, squeal comes back. Also by turning the steering wheel side to side I can quiet or enhance the squealing. Sounds like it's mainly coming...

    Valve leaking, can I fix myself?

    Hey boys and girls, After hours of trying to figure out where the leak was coming from on my spare tire, I notice that it's coming from the valve itself. Looks like there is a hairline frature in the valve where you screw on the little protective cap. Since I have stupid TPMS, can I just caulk...

    What engine oil for 1999 Kodiak 400?

    Here is what the manual says: It's been a couple of years since I've changed the oil since I don't use it very often(about 200 miles/yr). The oil that's in there right now is Motul 10W-40 full synthetic. I went to the Yamaha dealer near me and they don't sell Motul anymore. They wanted to...
