Approved oils usually pass specific test and have formulation that others oils not. Example from here some FCA, Renault or VAG engine/trans oils. Other question is if it's better or worse for car.

Probably you won't get troubles because compatible oils. For better you should know chemical data from labo and investigate. It's true sometimes OEM fluids are different from compatibles, example VAG or PSA gear oils here.

Difficult question. From theory yes, full syn should offer better shifting at extreme temps and less wear. In other hand Honda MTF is good fake syn with good result out there, I would use it, but on paper Ford fluids quality are closer to pro fluid brands than typical MTF.
