    M1 Annual Protection?

I'm just amazed that M1-AP hit the market with such a thud. I would have expected lots of discussion and conjure about the oil - is it GTL, or PAO or group 5, or... I think XOM priced themselves right out of the BITOG market because Mobil isn't a boutique oil, and $50 for a 5 quart jugs is...

    New(?) Mobil 1 oil filters?

Along with Mobil's Annual Protection motor oil, Mobil's come out with Extended Performance oil filters. Are the filters truly new and better, or are they repackaged to better match Mobil's new oil?

How long will your current oil stash last.

Oil: 2 5 quart jugs PUP, 20 quarts of NAPA synthetic, so 30 quarts. Between my 2 cars, 6 quarts a year, so 5 years worth.

Rubbish advice on BITOG these days...

I'd be happy if I could consistently get my kids to always ensure that there's adequate oil and coolant in the engine! They've lost 2 cars so far...

Oil Change on a Cold Engine

Before I retired, I had a 33 mile commute one way. When it was time for an oil change, I'd come home Friday evening, jack up one side of the car, slide an oil pan under there, and remove the oil plug and the oil filter. Jacking the car up tilted the oil pan making the drain plug the absolutely...

What oil additives make a difference?

I don't think my response was uninformed. Your original two points were that, unlike 99.44% of the snake oils out there, Motor Silk actually has a patent, and that they sell it in 400 pound drums. Neither of these points argue for (or against) how well Motor Silk works. Lots of folks believe...

    Another M1 Annual Protection question.

I just don't see who Mobil thinks will buy M1 Annual Protection. It won't sell well to garages that do oil changes for people - the only way it would sell would be for shops to tell their customers that the change will last 20,000 miles and 1 year. They won't do that for liability reasons and...

    dexos1 Gen 2 oils

So, the only GM car I have is a '15 Volt. It has a 1.4 liter, non-turbo, multi-port fuel-injected engine. Since it's neither direct-injected nor turbocharged, I assume that I can use whatever Dexos1 oil I wish (meaning I can use up my stash of NAPA 5W30 Synthetic, and Pennzoil Ultra 5W30). Is...

We Got Our Very Own $50 Mobil 1 Annual Protection

I think ExxonMobil blew the marketing of this oil. They've essentially said "This oil will last 20,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. What's special about it? Trust us. Oh, and it's nose-bleed expensive." If they want to market it to BITOG, they need to tell us WHY it's special (what...
