    2004 BMW 325i Engine Stumbling

Clean ICV (Idle Control Valve) and MAF, inspect DISA unit, replace all intake rubber arms (they Crack, but cheap to replace), clean TB, and replace CCV system with Cold Weather version. Secondary air pump is a possibility as well... That's a good start. Cam/crank pos sensors, etc too.

Are K&N drop ins still bad at filtering?

AFE ProDryS are in my experience the best, and I use them, both panel and cone, in every car I have from street to race/track. The fitment is absolutely perfect for every one I've used, and even with TRUE cold air intakes (filter in bumper a la the Dinan carbon fiber long tube CAI, but also...

    2004 BMW 325i - Need Some Info

ZSP "Sport Package" (wheels, steering wheel, and Sport Seats) ZPP "Premium Package" (woodgrain trim, auto dimming mirror) ZCW "Cold Weather Package" (common due to minimal cost but no visual cues really) Leather seats are excellent, I very much like them, but BMW leather requires maintenance...

how much power is too much power?

I have been quite successful in racing BMW's in a multitude of venues, and perhaps as a result of that, all of my street cars are modified to the closest thing to "streetable track" as I can manage. If my experience has taught me anything, it's that $10K into the suspension, chassis, brakes...

328 BMW front right wheel noise question

I recommend having an Indy check the wheel bearing

328 BMW front right wheel noise question

I have a Driver side rear wheel bearing that's bad and about to be replaced... Does the noise increase/disappear in relation to the weight transfer (louder when the turning left at speed, in your case)?

When you talk to one helpful service advisor...

Just as w anything, I think it comes down to the person and the day. That said, when The BMW Store in Cincinnati got BMWNA to pay for the entire replacement and upgrade for the torn subframe in my 328Ci (at the time I was 17yo, had bought the car elsewhere, and was out of any kind of...

Not test driving a car before buying it

IMO, I am only adamant about a test drive in the two following scenarios: 1. I have no (or almost no) experience with the car in question, which is typically a "new car purchase" thing (but because of my obsession with rare BMW's, I always test drive, especially if trying to decide between two...

    Stock Dodge Hellcat chassis dyno!

I have not driven the Shelby (yet... I literally live across the street from the biggest Ford dealership in the area), and keeping in mind my general "meh" attitudettowards American cars (let's face it, the 90-00's 'stangs were a bad joke), the Boss BLEW ME AWAY! I would love to see one...

Today's Test Drive: 2016 WRX STI

I agree with pretty much everything you said, having just test driven a similarly specced one (only in White), along with the M235i M-Sport (6MT/LSD/CC Brakes), and I just prefer rear wheel drive. Considering the cost difference, though, Subaru is the winner, but the M235i isa good rreminder...

    Cleaning synthetic oil

Redline, it will clean for a full 5k OCI, just change the filter frequently.

Lighter oils, lower zinc, et al

The AutoZone/Advanced(which is it?) in front of Walmart on Cin-day Road by the I75 ramps north of Cincinnati sells it, I have bought it many times (Torco).

    Archoil products

If friction equals heat, then I would really like to hear how it is that this "miracle additive" reduces friction SO MUCH that you are seeing an actual reduction in running temp? I had EVERY SINGLE internal component of my motor (along with the transmission guts, and parts of the LSD) treated...

    2003 audi a4 1.8

Never been a big Audi guy, but all of my "car friends" are big into VW/Audi leaving me as the sole BMW/Porsche guy. I really just am not a fan of AWD, even when implemented as well as Audi does (considering the price). That said, I have a lot of second-hand experience with the 1.8T, 2.0T, and...

How often do you guys go WOT?

Daily. I have a few M's, they're designed to be run to redline. Then there's my built 328, which sees a lot of track time (9k miles in 2.5yrs) where it's running nonstop for hours between 5800 and 8100rpm without stopping. Oh, and I have opened up the 328 and the motor has zero signs of wear...

Benefits & drawbacks of air filter wraps?

I have only ever seen them be worthwhile when I am running a TRUE cold air intake(like the Dinan carbon fiber one that pulls air from the front brake duct, setting the filter in the bumper). It is primarily just a way to prevent water induction, as well as having a secondary benefit of...

    Save the Manuals!!!

2001 BMW 325i 5MT Sport Euro Spec/Delivery... 191,767 miles and still on original clutch and flywheel. It's my daily. My fully built and custom SC'd 328Ci 6MT (the car has fewer stock parts than aftermarket parts at this point I'd wager), which sees almost exactly 1/3rd of its miles at the...
