    Purolator Classic Efficiency

https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1614004&page=1 This was all about the Pure One's beta effiency, and how it thrumps everything else out there. It went on for quite a while with a number of people refusing to believe what a Purolator's engineer put into...

Why No "SN" for Redline Oil

Why No "SN" for Redline Oil

I have tried to get an answer from Redline, but after 2 - 3 weeks still no answer. Does anyone know why Redline does not specify SN on their oils? Does it have anything to do with a major change in their additive package (something put in or taken out)?

    Job Aptitude

From West Texas: A young applicant at a sheriff's office was in his final job assessment for a deputy's position. Sheriff says, "Your tests are all excellent, and your background check is fine. We have one more test for you though, an aptitude test." The sheriff takes out a service pistol and...

    A JOYOUS THANKSGIVING TO ALL

I know; not the proper place for this, and Helen can kick it off if necessary, but... I wanted to thank you gearheads for giving me and others your knowledge, experience, and of course, your opinions. I have been racing (drags) since the late 60's and still learn things today. Some of you must...

    Moly vs Boron

They are both anti-wear, with moly having been around the longest (?), but cost aside, does anyone know if one is "better" at its job than the other? (Is it boron or borate?)

New Labels On M1 Oil Bottles

I wonder if they are using the labels to ID a new base formula? Of course, as always with them, it would be secret!

    Pure One dissection observations

Many years ago, I bought an oil filter only to discover there was no gasket on it after getting it home. Because of this I formed a habit of always checking a filter over before buying it. In all the years Purolator has been painting their P1 I have never found the overspray. Lucky, regional...

    Pure One dissection observations

I suggest you send Purolator your findings. At the worst, maybe you'll get an answer and a free filter. As far as can thickness goes - so what? As long as the canister stands up to your engine's oil pressure and the seal doesn't leak, thickness is a mute point.

How clean is new bottled oil?

It may possibly be particles of plastic from the manufacture of the bottle itself, not properly cleaned out before filling. A heck of a long time ago I worked at a Pepsi bottling plant. The empty cans and bottles, manufactured elsewhere and trucked in would be spot checked for "stuff" but that...

    Pure One dissection observations

The red coating you found in/on the filtering media, was it spotty, widespread, throughout? Are you sure it isn't part of the natural color of the media? Any pics?

    Beta Ratios

From the WIX site: P/N: 51372 Beta: 2/20 = 12/25 Nominal Micron Rating: 21 From the Royal Purple site: What are the beta ratios? Average beta rating based on ISO 4548-12 multi-pass test methods: B25 = 100 (which means at 25 or greater micron; media is 99% efficient.) B20 = 75 (which means...

    Oil filter relief bypass range?

    Beta Ratios

Sometime ago, I posted the beta ratios of Purolator's PureONE, and quite a "discussion" began. I do not want to rehash that, but, I would like to ask if you have beta data on your favorite filter (WIX, ST, NAPA, Fram (hahaha) etc), that is not heresay but you can quote a source, let's see it...
