Old exhaust fan motor, want to make something

We are replacing the exhaust fan from our kitchen. My Dad and I like to make things out of little motors. For example, at our old house, the old furnace came out and in went a new A/C and furnace couple years ago. We kept the old motor and made a grinder/buffing wheel out of it and it works...

    Acetone Fuel Additive Update

Inspired by this thread, I went to Ace Hardware and picked up some Acetone. I found an old plastic cup failing to find a good measuring device. The plastic cup was about the size of a shot glass. I dumped in about 2 cups full of the plastic cup figuring 1 shot is about 1oz. took our gas can and...

    Possibly converting to LPG

GMGuy, I'm looking to convert my truck, 98 Ranger. Currently has a 16 gallon tank and it is fuel injected. If possible I would like to go dedicated lpg. I plan on doing the work myself so labor and having someone else do it is not really a concern to me. I don't plan on doing this anytime soon...

Tracker is getting a good scrubbing with some water

We are currently using Auto-rx in the tracker right now. We also tried running 16oz of MMO through it. Since then with both MMO and Auto-rx, the tracker does seem to run alittle better however it is marginal. I have come to the conclusion that the Tracker does need something with more ooomph to...

Tracker is getting a good scrubbing with some water

Something else guys I remembered. Whenever I rev the Tracker at high RPM anything 5000 or past, small puffs of white smoke come from the tailpipe. Should I worry about this because I don't want water getting elsewheres in the engine where it doesn't need to be??? Thanks,,,AR

Tracker is getting a good scrubbing with some water

Mark, The water treatment has been around pretty much since dirt was invented so to speak. While the procedure is risky because if you induce too much water at once or run your engine too high RPM, you will hydrolock the engine or throw a rod. You find a good source of vaccum leading into the...

    LubeDev Articles

I tried doing a search on there articles to see what others think and failed to find a clear answer. I'm amazed what LubeDev reccomends to there readers and there tips for improving MPG's A few things in particular I do question. One is using a heavy oil, even in wintry conditions. The writer...

Tracker is getting a good scrubbing with some water

Thanks Hasbeen, I am aware of the risks involved with this procedure. I have done it on my truck once using up nearly 3/4 of a gallon of distilled water with nothing but sucess and a much better running truck. As far as cleaning the ring pack area. I'll let Auto-rx and LC take care of that,,,AR

Tracker is getting a good scrubbing with some water

I had to take our 97 Geo Tracker down to College this week and leave the truck behind for my Dad to use for hauling some stuff around the house. Before I left Monday evening of Labor Day, I put $15 in for gas from 1/8 tank and it gave me about 7/8 of a tank. The Tracker IIRC, has a 12 gallon...

    Possibly converting to LPG

Thanks guys, I'm taking an alternative fuels course next session maybe. There I hope I can find more out. My school also just bought an '05 Toyota Prius Hybrid. I'm not sure if it is Hydrogen or Electric. It's one of those 2. I know what the cars look like but I've never seen a hybrid in...

    Why use LC?

No one said you have to use Auto-rx either. Just to add what JHZR2 said, it will help extend out your OCI interval and keep insoluables down. LC is a solvent based product with 20wt viscosity. That is not to say it is a harsh product. It contains just enough solvents to keep sludge and varnish...

    Possibly converting to LPG

I'm getting tired of high gas prices and $20 worth of fuel giving me only 1/2 tank more in a 16 gallon tank. I hear both good and bad things about LPG. The good things I hear are long engine life, clean emissions and just less wear and tear on the motor and keeping the oil cleaner, longer...

New E85 factory broke ground in Lima last week

Not too far from my campus, my A/C instructor told the class there will be a new factory manufacturing E85 and gas stations as of next summer will sell E85. I am unsure who the name of the factory is or who owns it, started this all, etc... My teacher advised us for those who can run the E85...
