    Post your latest oil change

Thanks, John. We really like it, and were lucky to get it in this vehicle market, honestly. Yeah, I'd have rather changed it a little sooner and then jumped to more consistent 5k (5, 10, 15...) oil changes, but it is what it is. Our trip to Florida will add ~2-3k to the odometer, so I...

    Post your latest oil change

I performed the first oil change on our Yukon this weekend. We purchased it in December. 2022 GMC Yukon XL AT4 w/ 6.2 V8 - 4k miles out - factory fill and filter in - Havoline Pro-DS Lifelong 5w30 and Fram Ultra GM gives you a free oil change, but it's just easier for me to do it at home...

    Stripped diff plug

I'd take a hammer and chisel to it. Once it's loose, a pair of pliers (if not just your fingers) should turn it out easily.

    Battery powered leaf blowers

I have a Stihl battery blower. I don't remember the model off hand, but it's one of the cheaper hand held ones. I've had it a few years now. I use it to scare my wife when starting random brush/trash pile fires ("you're going to start a forest fire!") and to blow grass clippings off of places we...

    Master Bedroom House

I rented a beach house last year that had a massive master bedroom. It had daybeds, chairs, a desk and just tons of extra space. It had high ceilings, too. Felt like I was sleeping in a high school basketball gym. Seemed kinda silly.

Anyone else starting a garden this year?

Yeah, once you have a *good* tomato, you turn your nose up at all the rest. I get tomatoes from my mother, who has tons of tomato plants every year. For a solid month, all I'll eat for lunch (and many dinners) is a simple tomato/cheese/mayo sandwich. Summertime...

    Who is keeping their auto....???

Last week, we sold our 4-1/2 year old 4Runner with 42k miles on the clock for $900 less than we paid for it new.

1995 Honda Accord Broken Exhaust Stud HELP!

Ok, if you have a welder (or a buddy with one), I'd recommend building up that stud to get it out. I had to do this on just about every stud on my 4runner last year when replacing the exhaust manifolds.

1995 Honda Accord Broken Exhaust Stud HELP!

How deep is the drilled hole? If deep enough to jam a square extractor into, I'd give that a try. I've had good luck with them. My go to in this situation is welding a nut or building up my own stud to bite with some vise grips.

    Have you ever owned horses?

My parents have owned, bred, and showed Appaloosas since the early 70s. I wouldn't care if I never see another horse for as long as I live. 🤣 At their peak, they had 25. My father died 12 years ago, and my mother only has ~5 now. Lots of work, can be expensive, but also like anything done...

Filling a gas-powered vehicle can still be cheaper than charging an electric one

I ordered a Tesla Model 3 Performance this past weekend. Two things about the vehicle really drew me to it - performance and efficiency ($/mi). We rented a Model 3 LR last year and the acceleration is downright addictive. If you're a car guy, you can't help but smile with every push of the go...

    Got my smeller back

Haha, same here! My wife had it back in early January and lost taste and smell for about 72 hours. I never experienced any symptoms (never tested, either).

Anyone Own a Jetta or Passat TDI 6MT?

We had a 2013 Passat TDI 6MT. I had to order it, as there weren't many manuals available with the options we wanted. It was a great car, but dieselgate happened and VW offered to buy back our Passat for what we paid for it, so we moved on. I'd definitely recommend! As @RooflessVW mentioned, 2015...

If you have never seen a Taycan...

Well, I hope you're both happy. We decided on the Performance. I'm sure we'd have been very happy with the LR, but I think we'll be thrilled with the Performance. To make room (space and $$), we sold our 4-1/2 year old 4Runner for $900 less than we paid for it new in October 2017.

If you have never seen a Taycan...

Yeah, the wheels and tires are the biggest gotcha for me. I'd probably swap to smaller wheels. Not sure if smaller wheels would clear the calipers, though...something I need to research. A LR with the $2k acceleration boost may be a good middle ground. Yes, I rented a LR on Turo last year...

If you have never seen a Taycan...

@JeffKeryk - you'll be happy to know that I'm probably going to pull the trigger on ordering a Model 3 this weekend. Debating Long Range vs Performance...
