If you have never seen a Taycan...

@JeffKeryk - you'll be happy to know that I'm probably going to pull the trigger on ordering a Model 3 this weekend.

Debating Long Range vs Performance...
The biggest complaint I hear about the Performance is the 20" wheels and rubber band tires; they are not pothole friendly.
Have you driven these cars? How will you charge? Installing a dedicated 240V source can be pricey.

Enjoy your new electric rocket!

Get the performance! It has some technical advantages, such as better battery cooling strategies and "track mode" that allows some great torque management. But best of all, it's faster off the line! Right where you need it.

100% agree. For the additional $8K, the Performance is a bargain.
If and when I buy another, it will be a Performance. At least that's what wifey says... So there's that.

4.2 second 0-60 ain't gonna cut it, right? How you gonna spank those exotics? 3.1 should do the trick!
@Cujet don't get me started! Our Mid Range is gonna hafta do for now!

Yeah, the wheels and tires are the biggest gotcha for me. I'd probably swap to smaller wheels. Not sure if smaller wheels would clear the calipers, though...something I need to research. A LR with the $2k acceleration boost may be a good middle ground.

Yes, I rented a LR on Turo last year.

I'll install the Tesla home charger myself.

Pull the hubcaps off of the Performance's wheels and you have a really nice looking set!

I think you know those are the base 18" Aero Wheels. The alloys are 19" and $1500. The Performance model comes with the 20" Uberturbine wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Pirelli P Zero sticky rubber. The Performance has the bright red calipers.

Well, I hope you're both happy.

We decided on the Performance. I'm sure we'd have been very happy with the LR, but I think we'll be thrilled with the Performance.

To make room (space and $$), we sold our 4-1/2 year old 4Runner for $900 less than we paid for it new in October 2017.

I see one at work all the time. Its honestly a bit tame in person. Nice looking car, but tame. 0-60 in 5+ seconds unless you get the upper trim levels.

If I was spending that kind of money, no way I'd pick such an ugly and sterile color. It looks like base paint before the dye.
It’s not as bad looking as Dodge’s wet concrete…. Sorry I mean Destroyer gray, but I hate all those pastel like grays.
