New Fisker Ocean. Looked pretty promising. 11/22 production start date. I put a reservation down.

Base model: $37,xxx , FWD, 250 mile range,

Mid trim $49,999 , AWD, 340 mile range, 540HP, 0-60 under 5 seconds

Top trim $67,xxx slight quicker than the mid trim level mainly a package upgrade. Solar roof, swivel center display, “California mode”(opens all windows besides windshield)

Standard heat pump across all models. Contract to be built by Magna Steyr. All seems too good to be true.

Is it vapor ware?
Pre order demand seems weak compared to what Ford/Tesla/GM pulled with their models. I don’t normally care to reserve cars but I figured since there wasn’t a ton of interest in the car…I might get behind the wheel of one a reasonable amount of time.

The Fisker Karma is still a good looking car. I've heard Fisker was making a comeback but didn't know production was starting on the Ocean, looks nice!

They are attractive vehicles, proving that EV's don't have to be homely. Didn't Fiskers go out of business once already ?
I would be worried that a small car maker like Fiskers isn't going to survive the EV market shift and would leave their customers without support for parts and/or repairs after a few years.

Polestar has good financial backing. Rivian is already showing signs of financial struggles. Nikola ? I'm sure glad I didn't give them any money. We'll see if Fiskers sinks or swims by 2025.

Fisker went down the first time after their battery supplier went bankrupt. But these new batteries are made by CATL which also supports multiple other OEMs including Chinese built Teslas. So atleast we know it won’t be the battery takes them out.

Their claim is that because they are outsourcing suppliers and manufacture they are able to deliver a vehicle at a low price. This slightly is suspicious because why wouldn’t they price the vehicle competitively? It would just mean more money in their pockets.

My only concern is that I waste 1-2 years waiting and never get a car.

They're slow, near zero dealer network, questionable parts and sustainability for the future. I have zero desire for it.
