    Remove belt dressing?

Forgot to mention we started a field car after it sat for about four years, belt was instantly squealing and rotating around slower than the pulley speed. We removed the belt and the surfaces were glazed and cracked, so they went to buy a new belt. While waiting I reinstalled the belt and...

What Are Your Most Favorite Maintenance Tools?

I used mine once in the past year. A head sheared off a steel bolt, smaller in size diameter shaft. I tried loosening the remaining length of bolt still threaded in. It gripped so **** well I sheared the bolt again. That was some serious gripping power!

What Are Your Most Favorite Maintenance Tools?

Vacuum extractor. I've used it on so many random fluids I can't remember most of them anymore. Every person I've used it in front of runs right out and buys one.

Fram Ultra Air 9997 - not sure I should even use this, or take it back..?

Meh, I'd return it if unhappy. I'd use it in a pinch if I had to, but there really is no "have to" in air filters. Maybe if my filter tore in half and I needed to get to store for a new one? :ROFLMAO:

    Remove belt dressing?

I actually use brake cleaner on my belts (while spinning) to remove fluids like antifreeze, oxidation, clean off the pulleys, and yes it has stopped squeaking too. I have never had a single belt fail in any way, I've been doing this for quite a long time. Belts have had over 150K miles on them...

Did they get him? There is a MASSIVE manhunt in Texas. 10 days in...

After reading more about the inmates crimes, and "high security risk" status, I am 100% convinced he had outside and inside help with the escape. I have witnessed staff manipulation first hand, where they were made to bring contraband into a facility, on and off over a few years time. Finally...

Pretty sure he's in Mexico by now, back with his cartel.. Maybe he'll be suspected of ratting out a member and will be exterminated? Heres for hope...

The quality of mechanics that work on your vehicles and the quality of their work is a crapshoot now days.

Great mechanics, bad mechanics, and average mechanics. General reputation of all is that they constantly try and screw people, which is sad. Absolutely under appreciated by society because of our countries lack of technical skills and understanding. I wrench on my vehicles and equipment, and...

I can't blame the seller for not kicking out the buyer when the sleaze started.. I'd be too afraid of him damaging the house, property or car before leaving. Cops wouldn't be effective at all and I'd be stuck paying for the damages out of pocket to avoid an insurance claim. The good guys...

New Tecumseh carb, primer doesn't work

I never had any experiences with a non functioning primers on any of my carbs, even when replaced new to avoid cleaning the varnish out of the old one (yeah, I know..). I would ask how does the bulb act when depressed? No matter how many times pressed or during engine operation, does it ever...

    Wagon superiority thread

Oh its long gone now.. And yes I regret selling it badly. It was comfortable and rode very smooth at highway speeds. Engine and drivetrain were well suited for highway speed and the mileage was about 24 mpg. I did find one five years ago and I jumped at the chance to buy it for $4k, a very...

    Water in OEM trailer connector.

I'm guessing on road spray, or a bottom blast at a carwash. Like you, I'd get a way to completely seal off the connector.. If grease was the only way, I would have no problem with that.
