Water in OEM trailer connector.

While working on the underside of my 2021 Tundra I had to diconnect the trailer plug going to the factory bumper trailer connector. To my surprise there was a good amount of water that came running out. Vehicle rear has never been submerged in water so what gives? Going to load up with some Dialetric Grease after drying out.

I'm guessing on road spray, or a bottom blast at a carwash. Like you, I'd get a way to completely seal off the connector.. If grease was the only way, I would have no problem with that.
