    Jeep Cherokee or Toyota Landcruiser?

The Land Cruiser is fulltime AWD, I get 16.2 mpg 40% city 60% hwy. A 4Runner would be more like a Cherokee in that it would be 2WD until you switch it into 4WD.

    Jeep Cherokee or Toyota Landcruiser?

We would be speaking Japanese on the west coast and German on the east coast.

    Jeep Cherokee or Toyota Landcruiser?

Yeah good point. A 4Runner is more similar in cost, size and 4WD drivetrain to a Cherokee than a Land Cruiser.

Land Cruiser: full time AWD (3 diffs, all lockable as an option) Solid Front Axle Body-on-frame construction I get 16.2 mpg, stock everything. Cherokee: 2WD/4WD (2 diffs?) Solid Front Axle? Unibody construction? Both have lots of aftermarket suspension goodies available. Which would have...

Comptech Foam filters??? Any foam filter users??

I thought Comptech went out of business. Perhaps you can get the current stock for cheap since there will be no company to back up the warranty. The Comptech filters were made by Unifilter.

    FP3000 testamonials

I just completed my second tank of gas using FP3000. With both tanks I got 16.2 mpg. Previously I used FP60. I was getting a consistent 15.7 mpg. So far FP3000 is about a 3% improvement in MPG over FP60.

    chevron purescape

I believe it was discussed here. I thnk the conclusion was that it worked as advertised but was too expensive to use on a regular basis. Try some FP60 or FP3000 from www.lubecontrol.com.

    0w20 German Castrol?

I can get the following from my local auto parts stores: Redline Royal Purple Mobil 1 Castrol Syntec and whatever Walmart sells. Do any of those above have some of the the GC magic in a xW20?

    0w20 German Castrol?

I have been using GC but now Toyota has a new TSB that recommends a 0w20 or 5w20 for my vehicle. Is there a product that has the magic of GC but in a 20 weight? What would you recommend? Thanks!!

Can anyone offer proof that K&N is inferior?

I called Donaldson and they said they make the nano air filter series for Amsoil. Amsoil does not make them.

    Another example of "Professional Grade"

Doesn't GM own AC Delco? So it would make sense to "buy" from your own company and not a competitor (Fram). I don't think Fram has a patent on the color orange.

Who has cleaned a EA air filter

Yeah, just use low pressure compressed air or a vacuum. DO NOT USE WATER AND SOAP. This is a cellulose (paper) based filter and will reduce it's tear strength if it gets wet.

    Cleaning an Amsoil EaAU filter?

Yeah, the Amsoil filters are a cellulose (paper) based filter that is made by Donaldson. So you should only use air pressure or vacuum to clean it. Never use water or soap, it will weaken the paper fibers.

Mobil 1 EP Extended Performance 15K mile OCI vs GC

I forgot to mention that my Land Cruiser's 4.5L motor has an oil capacity of 8 quarts.

Mobil 1 EP Extended Performance 15K mile OCI vs GC

I am in So California, all I could find is a lame looking bottles of 0w-30 Syntec, made in USA I would love to do a UOA but by the time I pay for it, I could have a OCI of 10k instead of 15k and break even in terms of $$ spent. I am sad to say that I am not that top 1% tier of oil enthusiasts...

    Tacoma 90W

Toyota might buy the front diff, tranny, transfer case, and rear diff from different manufacturers. Each manufacturer may have a different way of spec'ing a fluid. When it all gets assembled and the Toyota manual writers have to write a oil spec, they merely copy and paste what the individual...

Mobil 1 EP Extended Performance 15K mile OCI vs GC

I currently have Mobil 1 EP Extended Performance 5w-30 in my Land Cruiser with 15k mile oil change intervals. If I switch to GC, can I still keep the 15k mile OCI? BTW, I also have a gallon of LC20 that I can use to help extended the GC's OCI if needed.

Lube Control's "out of stock" on everything

Please remember that 95% or so of their sales are to fleets, in HUGE bulk containers. If they are no longer selling individual gallons, I hope they are still selling them by the 50 gallon drum. If not, I might call them up and license their formula's from them, haha.
