    Gaming PC Advice

A 4060 is a great GPU. From memory what I didn't like was something along the lines of the data transfer bandwidth was halved or something. A 3060 Ti can shift data faster with the motherboard. It was over a year ago. At the time the 3070 Ti were being dumped $500 off and were around same price...

    Gaming PC Advice

Since we're talking about GPU's I found a good website which has comparative performance based on many reviews and bench testing: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3050-8-gb.c3858 If you go down the page you can scroll through the list. There were truly some heavy hitters...

    Gaming PC Advice

This will make or break a gaming build. avoid the RTX3050, it's a detuned 3060 and more a replacement for the discontinued RTX2030. Even a 3060 is a lot better. If you can get a 3060 Ti or 3070 Ti they are great value. A 4060 Ti is the newer model and still reasonable, but after that costs get...

    Gaming PC Advice

I'm not actually a gamer but buy gamer PC's for my Engineering business because they are the cheapest way to get the most powerful machine. I have never used Cyberpower but they look similar to the company I use. I had a look on their website, I'm not up with AMD so will only comment on Intel. I...

Get a custom build not a factory build, you will get better value then. Will get better parts.

How fast does engine oil flow after cold start?

Assuming the oil is not too cold to flow, for a fixed volume pump the oil will pump the same speed through the engine independent of viscosity or temperature because liquids are incompressible. However the energy required to pump the oil will vary. Variable displacement pumps I don't know...

Do engineers not make good money anymore?

In Australia Engineering is in crisis. We are in chronic shortage of Geotechnical, Structural, Civil and project managers. Despite this fact wages are barely more than 15 years ago and government regulation and professional indemnity insurance have tightened up massively. One of our best...

A rather strong response to a Tea tax I always thought. However was ultimately very effective.

    TransGo Shift Improvement Kits

I've used a Transgo shift kit in a Subaru 5EAT with 242,000 km. It had old fluid but there was rtv on the pan, so this had been changed once. Trans was not behaving and I thought it was toast. Transgo shift kit and a full flush and filter have been miraculous. It works better than it ever did...

I don't understand why the public just let them do it? Many people I know would have executed a 'citizens arrest'

Castrol Edge 0W40 A3/B4 vs Shell Helix Ultra 5W40

He says it tapered off after a few weeks but is still better. I don't think he's getting 20% now but haven't spoken to him about it much. He also went from 10W40 to 5W30. Who knows, maybe it freed up a sticking VCT? It does sound noticeably smooth. It's working well for him. YMMV.

Valvoline Restore and Protect 10W-40 Now Available in Australia

I know this is a bit OT but when I was in Repco the other day I noticed 4 L of Maxlife ATF has had its regular price dropped to $44. With regular store wide 25% discount would be even better.
