For thin gaskets and paper gaskets in cooling systems I've always used Permatex #2. Its a sticky resin gasket sealer. Much tackier than RTV and "dries" (firms up) as the alcohol base evaporates.

I did the opposite. Duration for the walls and Emerald for the trim. The first rooms of trim I painted with Duration Semi Gloss wanted to hold on to any dirt from hands that touched it.

My favorite interior paint is SW Cashmere. It flows so nicely, covers evenly and dries to a nice smooth finish. Found out it is quite washable too. I can't say anything bad about SW Duration though. Used a lot of that too. The only problem with SW is trying to figure out their sheen system...
