RAV4 dethrones F150 as best selling car (vehicle) in the U.S.

Think it is the dealers who want some differentiation. When we were buying cargo vans there were always a lot more Express in stock at Chevy dealers. GM still hasn’t introduced a high roof van to the U.S. market.

Video on not taking social security at age 65

My best friend and I each have financial advisors. His recommended taking SS at 65. Mine recommended 70. My advisor’s read was that with a life expectancy of 82 (healthy male at age 65) you’d be ahead to wait.

2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i premium - CVT/used car purchase question

You might check the price and availability of used CVT’s. The problem with buying a car at 155,000 miles is that any major repair may be a substantial portion of or exceed the value. We once put new tires and brakes on Ford Econoline van for $1,800 and sold it less than a year later for $1,800….

As the 7 still has all the features I need, at this point probably going to keep it and get a new battery installed. Apparently that’s now. $99 up from $79.

Why do you put your wipers up before it snows?

Subaru has had a heater at the base of the windshield (where the wipers are) called the “Front Wiper De-Icer” available since the mid 1990’s. Almost all their cars have it. Usually only the Base models did not.

    Citizen solar watch

On my second Apple Watch, V7. Functionality is awesome. For example, there’s a Hockey Tracker app that will show me average speed, peak speed, and heart rate, per shift. Ditto ski tracking, hiking, running, etc. The only thing I don’t like about it is battery life, which is only about 18 hours...

    Coffee - Your Current Brew

That’s “medium school.” Old school “Cowboy Coffee” is to bring water to a boil, let grounds steep for four minutes, then pour a little cold water on top to settle the grounds. I don’t even do that, just pour it off slowly. For reasons unknown to me, that coffee retains taste longer in a...

    High quality seat covers

We’ve put these in a few cars. This 2006/Outback came with “mouse fur” seats. They still looked great 15 years and 255,000 miles later. (The wrinkles went away after a few days). https://katzkin.com/

Why do you put your wipers up before it snows?

Today in Boston is the day for wipers up. Daughter’s boyfriend’s Jeep Cherokee needed a new wiper blade. Just so happens it’s the same 26A used on the Subarus, so we had a spare Bosch Iccon. Rain changed to a dusting of snow overnight. Lucky the blade was trashed as it broke pulling it off the...

Recommendations for coffee beans storage container

Costco now sells Cashews in glass jars. Two of them hold the beans, IIRC. I fill one and just take the beans from the original package, which h is designed to be resealed.
