    Extended drain intervals will continue, possibly increase. I personally am likely going to extend my Oil & Filter change intervals from once a year, to once each year & a half. Why, you ask? Because after a full year (approx.15,000-18,000 miles) my oil still looks like it came out of the bottle...

    No, he's not ignorant about anything automotive. Last time I saw him, he had a Jeep CJ-5 with a 4 speed manual, which engine he rebuilt himself, big $$$$. But that Jeep would stand up & STAY up as he shifted through all 4 gears. Even in 4th, he'd have to back off before it would come back down.

    Running 0w30 instead of 5w20

    My 2003 Pontiac Vibe specifies 5W-30, both in the manual & on the fill cap. But I run 0W-30 & have FANTASTIC MPG of 42 on the Hwy. & no problems in the 4+ years I've owned it. And I run it HARD, no babying it.
