Racing oils definitely not geared towards long OCI, for one they usually have much lower TBN. I used VR1 for a good while in my classic car that doesnt get much mileage, I wanted to change it yearly or so, but Valvoline told me by email, 6 months as a MAX for their racing oils.

The lean code for my 94 5.0 was 172. If you haven't changed it recently, a clogging fuel filter can cause this due to the reduced flow to injectors. A weak fuel pump or bad HEGO sensor can cause this code also.
