    Do turbos damage oil?

I've got a Beetle with a turbo. Is that thing doing nasty destruction to my oil? Maybe I should cut intervals in half (to 5000).

California gas has been low sulphur since 2006

Honda used to sell Civic hybrids and HXs with lean burn. But later models turned-off that feature. Do any other car companies use lean burn?

    Delvac 1 in 5w-20 engine?

$25 at a nearby I95 truckstop. It's a Honda civic, and I have no idea what oil the previous owner had.

    Delvac 1 in 5w-20 engine?

The engine says 5w-20 but it's also very old (200,000 miles). Think it would be alright to use Delvac 1? I've had extremely good results with it (two cars went almost 400,000 miles).

What happened to PP on the GM Dexos1 approved list

It seems odd the Pennzoil Ultra is not listed as a dexos oil, when it's upposedly the "best" oil they sell. Also is rather odd their website was never updated to list "dexos" under the Platinum brand. From: [email protected] Date: Wed, Jan 2, 2013 at 11:44 AM Yes, Pennzoil...

California gas has been low sulphur since 2006

So what's the ppm in the other 49 states? If it's high sulphur, it's a bit surprising that you can buy SULEV/PZEV cars with 150,000 mile catalysts warranties in New England. The sulphur would poison the catalytic converters. California did thinks a bit backwards. They enacted new stringent in...

What AMSoil recommended for this model engine?

    It's a two-stroke glowplug engine that uses a 1 part oil, 4 part glowfuel mixture (i.e. 20% oil; 80% fuel). No piston ring (it's aluminum inside a nickle-plated sleeve). http://www.osengines.com/engines/la.html

What happened to PP on the GM Dexos1 approved list

Saying "If you use this add. pack you are dexos qualified" seems pretty weak. A small farmers' coop could take cheap 50 cent oil, add the dexos additives, and then be certified. At least that's how it appears. And Pennzoil is on the list but only the Blend carries the green symbol. It makes me...

    dexos-qualified Pennzoil synthetic?

Yes VW does actual mechanical tests on the oil (or so I've been told by VWforums). No not with an engine. VW has a problem with premature wear in their camshafts and turbos, so they only let europeans use certain VW-tested oils.

Natural oil - What benefits does it provide?

I never used any Mobil but Delvac 1. It's possible the other mixes are inferior & "noisy"?

So Amsoil OE == the old XL-7500?

Thanks. Could have saved us both time & said that the first time. Still think I'd rather use OE synthetic than Maxlife synth/natural blend.
