iF YOU'RE CURIOUS ABOUT THE FACTORY FILL take a look at this. This is a copy-n-paste from a different forum. QUOTE: "I recently changed my oil for the first time on my new Insight and sent a sample of the original oil to Blackstone Laboratories for analysis. Here is the information from there report:

"COMMENTS: This is a new engine for us too so we are starting the average wear (universal averages) based on the 1.5L Civic. We will blend in 1.0L samples until wear is solidly standard and represents this type. you can write off the high metals (and silicon) in this sample to manufacturing left-overs. Since the engine is all aluminum that element may continue to read higher than our averages show is typical for a while. It will be interesting to see where it finally resides. The gas in the oil should disappear in the next sample The TBN [Total Base Number] was 8.5, plenty high. Use 5,000 mi next sample.

Who cares about current formulations. The OP is simply showing us what the FF looked like in the 2003 Honda Insight.

i was hoping to see a more current model insight, but that car is a commercial and a product failure anyway. too bad.

Well who wants a two seat car? Where do you put your kid? Honda should have made it in 2 and 4 seat version (like they did with CRZ)

There's a new 5 seat nsight that is basically the same shape (fastback) but with a standard civic engine.

Too tight

A new battery costs $3000 (including labor). That's as expensive as a new transmission install. Any money you save with your hybrid is erased. (Though I guess you culd just keep driving with the dead battery.)

Let's just assume posting while intoxicated and ignore it.

I am sober and still hold the same opinion.

I'm guessing some of you think batteries never fail? Well visit an insight forum sometime. A lot of owners are complaining about failing (or weak) batteries at around 150,000 miles. They cost $3000 to $3500 to replace at the dealer.
