Brake Problems on E-350 Box Truck

I installed reman calipers and flushed the brake fluid and the overheating problem was fixed. Now, it needs new rear drums and lower ball joints.

Brake Problems on E-350 Box Truck

I have a '95 Ford E-350 Dually with a 20' box that hasn't been driven much in the past 4 years. Last week, the front brakes seemed to be acting up more than normal( they usually pulsated some.) During braking, they would pulsate harshly, get very hot, smell of brake dust, and screech some. So, I...

What is the best oil to fight fuel dilution?

Rotary engines encounter higher fuel dilution than piston engine especially with wear. Most owners use Catrol GTX or Havoline 10w40 or 20w50 and tend to use a 3K oci.

    6.0 vs 7.3 Powerstroke - Opinions please

Go with the 7.3L. I got one at 220k and it seems like it was just broken in.

'95 Accord (or similar) opinions/info please

I had a '94 Accord Ex Wagon. The F22B1 VTEC motor was bulletproof but the auto tranny wasn't the greatest(Step-brother had a '95 with 5-spd, very good tranny). Reverse went out at 155-160K and then all the gears went at around 175-180K. The car was maintained since new but I beat the #@$%! out...

Cheap, low mileage vehicle, have some questions.

I agree with Merkurwwu on getting a Focus. The Mazda powertrain(MZR/Duratec motors) in the new models are second to none in my book.

    Ford: Quality equal to Toyota

The 3.5L Duratec V6 was developed from the 3.0L Duratec, so you could say the 3.0L was the first significant new from Ford. It was actually designed by Porsche and Cosworth developed the heads and is produced in Cleveland. Great motor IMHO.

    20W-50 anyone?

I use Castrol GTX 20W-50 in my Mazda RX-7 for most of the year(most rotary owners do). All other weights thin out too much because of the higher gas diluation(usually caused by worn oil seals.)

Small oil filter on big motor

Wow! That filter looks like it is the same size as the one on my RX-7. How many quarts of oil are in the pan of that V8?

Most reliable engine, independent of oil used?

    - Ford 300ci I-6 - Mazda F and B series engines - Volvo red block I-4 - Toyota 20/22R I-4 - Most diesels

    Ford: Quality equal to Toyota

On the car side of things, my family and I have opted for imports over domestics: 94 Honda Accord wagon, 2.2L I4 auto - Bought new....at 160K auto tranny's reverse failed, then at 180K, it completely failed but the motor was still going strong. Traded it in. 88 Toyota Tercel, 1.5 I4 5-spd -...

    Ford: Quality equal to Toyota

I have a 2000 Ford Excursion with a PSD that has over 215,000 miles. It runs and drives like it's new. The only problems with it is it wears out ball joints more frequent than normal. Also, I got a 1995 Ford E350 Hi-Cube truck with the 351 V8. Its got around 192,000 miles on the clock. I've only...
