    4.0L I6 Jeep

I just changed out the Rotella 15w40 and Wix filter after 300 miles and added Pennzoil Platinum 10w30 and a Bosch Distance Plus filter. The Rotella was still gold coming out of the engine. It is a Night and Day difference from the Rotella. 15w40 was not the right oil for this engine. I felt...

As to all the discussion about MMO

I just bought my first used car in 24 years, an old 1998 Jeep XJ I want to restore. I'd not consider any of these additives in any cars I own except this car. I have 7 cars in total, all under ~5,000 miles, all with factory warranty, and all but 2 with full maintenance. None are my problems, no...

    4.0L I6 Jeep

Im now running SI-1 this tank. I have 15W40 rotella in, and I fellt its a bit to much for this "rebuild". SI-1 seems to have made a difference already, still not done with the tank of gas, but the car idles smoother. Rotella 15w40 is out as soon as the gas tank is empty. I'll replace with...

    Best coolant flush method?

Try some Cascade. You'd be impressed. Google it. I think chlorine is what you are looking for tho cleanse.

    4.0L I6 Jeep

I've had quite a few Jeeps recently, I have an 11 Overland 5.7. I've recently had an 07 SRT-8, 07 Limited 4.7, 06 Liberty 3.7, 06 Wrangler Sahara 3.7 and loved them all. For some reason, I always have a Jeep or two in the driveway. I now drive a few new cars in the 300-500hp range from the...

1 quart MMO or 16 oz for first time cleaning ?

I have 1qt of MMO in a 4.0l with 87k on the clock. Its been in there for only 150 miles or so, I cant say if its doing anythinh yet. Oil is still spotless.

I think the advantage is just having more filtration area, and some more oil volume. I got just under 6.5qts in. Rear main seal is simple on this car. Its a two piece gasket, that cost ~$8 directly from Jeep. It sits between the engine and the transmission, if you see oil there, its likely you...

    MMO is no joke.

I just bought a few project cars and added MMO to the gas with the intent of cleaning and/or lubricating any internals I couldn't see or change. I wont be driving any of them too far. Maybe 100 to 500 miles each. I wonder if I'd see any benefit? Gas mileage is not a concern.

I've never heard a tractor. Are you referring to piston slap or the inherent ticking these engines display in their higher mileage? I have 3 of these now, all either being restored or complete. Great projects.

One warning... If you go with a larger oil filter and change the filter from the top of the engine, be careful not to hit the oil pressure sending unit with the filter wrench. The sending unit sits just below the distributor and sticks out over the oil filter. It is made of plastic and mated to...

    4.0L I6 Jeep

I just picked up a 1998 Cherokee with the 4.0l as a project. I just completed a ton of work to it. After reading some Jeep forums, I ended up filling it with Rotella T3 15W40. It's been in there for about 120-150 miles and I KNOW its the wrong oil for this engine. Ticks at start-up then fades...
