    Filter Suggestion

Haven't been around in a long time. I let the account expire. I've been a little reluctant to pay the ~$50 a year in domain and hosting fees. I'm checking into some options. Putting it on an existing sub-domain would be free, but it wouldn't be an easy recognizable URL.

Mercruiser oil filter study is offline? NOOOOO!

Thank you for the catch. It says nitrile at the top of this page http://www.oilfilterstudy.com/mobil1.htm and silicon at the bottom. The xls file is correct. I will change it at the top. Thanks again for pointing it out.

I really like Phil Wood's products. I don't know about the technical qualities, I just like its performance. http://www.philwood.com/webcatolog/page18.htm

You are welcome. If you click on the $1 link, it will take you to paypal, which will give you an email address. Use that address to do your own paypal transfer. I don't give the address here for fear of more spammers. Thank you for your support. I'm a little for taking so long.

Mercruiser oil filter study is offline? NOOOOO!

I just renewed the domain today for another year. I even found the two year old files on my hard drive. Give me a couple of weeks to get it uploaded and the domain working. I'll post on this thread.

Mercruiser oil filter study is offline? NOOOOO!

I've got a site to host the data -- I just need to upgrade the plan ($3 a month) to have additional domains. I still own the domain name and will have to transfer it to my current hosting company. An interesting tidbit. I have received $16 from the paypal donations on the site. It is as least...

Mercruiser oil filter study is offline? NOOOOO!

I'm back after a very long hiatus. My VERY low level host provider had a server crash and lost all of the files. I just haven't had the time to find my last version and put it back on-line. I'll put some effort into it and get back.

Grease Ver 3 Oil Filter Study Released

I will try to post this without guile -- gotta love the forum handle... The differences you see probably are do the moon phase, my mood, whether I got to kick the dog that day, etc. Seriously, that is a good catch. I was probably not consistent with my personal observations. This was probably...

Grease Ver 3 Oil Filter Study Released

I did not measure the media alone by weight. I do have a measurment in the .xls file that is the filter and encap weight -- i.e. the canister. It could be used as a comparison against filter area -- some kind of value of weight to EFA (of course the Fram EG & TG could not be compared because of...

Grease Ver 3 Oil Filter Study Released

Thanks for the "pin", Joe. I am wanting to do another "point" revision on the site by doing some wordsmithing. Now that it has been out for a while there have been some misconceptions and I would like to clear up some things. I saw one post on a boat forum that dismissed the study because we...

Grease Ver 3 Oil Filter Study Released

The intent was to compare filters against each other with a constant benchmark. In this case the grade 30 oil was the optimum oil to read with the bubble point tester. The bubble point / pore readings turned out accurate as the parker filter was tested and matched its published ratings. The...

Holy cow Batman! Price of ATF+4

I can get ATF+4 at my local Dodge dealer at $16 a gallon just because the recognize me from going in all the time (two Dodges -- G. Caravan and Durango). I always ask for my "frequent buyer" discount. Also, buying it by the gallon helps. Any time I'm in there buying a part I pick up another...
