My bad.
2.0 engine
About 8k miles a year, but two trips of about 1k miles each, so 2k highway and 6k city (about 20 miles on the days I do drive, which is usually once or twice a week.
I hope that helps.
I'm using semi synthetic oil (Pennzoil) in my '17 Ford Edge. It's got 41k miles and the percentage is 14%. Will the oil be in worse condition if I wait until it's at 0%? I know oil wears down as the miles add up, but I just want to make sure that if I go by the monitor, and wait until 0%, I'll...
I was just wondering what happens to an engine that the manufacture requires semi-synthetic oil, but regular oil is added by accident, say at the oil change place. It didn't happen, but I was just wondering how it would affect the engine.
I've had my '17 Ford Edge for 14 months now and I have yet have to replace the wipers. They come with the ugly frame style blades, but they've lasted at least twice as long as the most expensive beam style ones.
Did I get lucky and get fluke blades that still work as well as when I got the...
That's interesting about same company but different engines having different results.
I didn't have any smell of gas, and hopefully won't have any when I change the oil.
As you guys know I recently bought a new Ford Edge (2.0 eco-boost)and I finally have almost 1500 miles on it but the oil looks the same as it did when I bought it with a little over 400 miles. There's also none of the shiny metal shavings that I can see in the oil.
So I'm wondering if this is...
In that I mean if they were meeting API/ILSAC they were offering what all engines needed from them?
I recall years ago, many probably, when it seemed like there was night and day difference between oil brands. Where Pennzoil was a step up from QUaker Satte, and both were infinitely better than...

I was reading that some oil companies get their oil from Asia, or other places outside of the US.
Does it matter in terms of quality, or meeting ILSAC or API specs?
Is American oil that company X uses going to be a better quality than Asian oil that company B uses?
And does anyone know if...

Maybe a little fuel dilution, and maybe Ford put 5w20 in it as the factory fill. New engines appear to shear the VII chemicals more.
Forgive the ignorance, but why do new engines shear more?
And what are VII chemicals?

What's interesting is that Mobil 5000 had similar numbers to Motorcraft...
