Sounds like you've got air in the system. What is your fluid level at now? You'll probably just have to bleed the system again, make sure your fluid level stays full!

What kind of car? Some cars (like my Civic), you can remove the rubber hose (about 4" long), and clean it, no tools required. I usually do that when I'm under changing the oil, but it hasn't had anything in it yet.

Briggs started doing this a couple years ago, I believe it was over a lawsuit. I think it was because the engines are rated at 3600 RPM, but are rarely ever set to run at that speed.
