How long will my roommate's '04 Liberty last?

Practically everyone I know is like that. I don't know if it is stupidity, so much as ignorance. They think an oil change (whatever is cheap) twice a year (if they remember) is "maintenance". And of course, when it breaks down, it's the cars fault. But for some, it's definitely stupidity, you...

I've done it! 200k and counting

Congrats! How many miles have you been running the Amsoil in the tranny? And how often do you change it?

What kind of driving / usage will the truck see? I'd stay in the thicker range if it will see lots of towing.

    Brakes.... I killed them ?

Also, just a thought, I think you'll have better luck in the Mechanical Maintenance forum in getting a helpful response.

    Brakes.... I killed them ?

Sorry, but I don't know anything about that car. Hopefully a Mazda expert can point you in the right direction regarding your ABS system. If you can push the pedal to the floor, you've definitely got air in there. If you have a helper, there's no harm in trying the two-person method, as you...

    Brakes.... I killed them ?

Is it possible that the level got too low while you were bleeding? If so, you may have air the ABS unit (or somewhere in the system). After you test drove the car, did you see anymore puddles under the car? I doubt you blew anything with only 10 psi. Post your make/model, maybe someone will...

    Brakes.... I killed them ?

Sounds like you've got air in the system. What is your fluid level at now? You'll probably just have to bleed the system again, make sure your fluid level stays full!

Blowing out the evaporator drain tube

What kind of car? Some cars (like my Civic), you can remove the rubber hose (about 4" long), and clean it, no tools required. I usually do that when I'm under changing the oil, but it hasn't had anything in it yet.

    Briggs Twin - Won't Idle

Or you need a static governor adjustment performed. If they had the crankcase open, and/or linkages off, they might have screwed this up. The static adjustment sets the governor rod (inside crankcase) in relation to the lever attached to it on the outside. If the shop is close by, get them to...

Case 450 CT trackloader overheating (2007)

What is the engine temp? What is the hydraulic oil temp? You might have a hydraulic function that is running over-relief, and this generates lots and lots of heat. You should be checking your pressures, this will tell you if anything is running over-relief. Does it sound any different? You...

No more HP ratings for small Honda engines?

Briggs started doing this a couple years ago, I believe it was over a lawsuit. I think it was because the engines are rated at 3600 RPM, but are rarely ever set to run at that speed.

    Next question: Grease!

That Mystik looks like good grease. I have to say, with your concern for the lubricants in your equipment, you're further ahead than most owners.

    Clay as you wash....

I tried claying my Civic for the first time back in the spring, and I completely agree with you. It was WAY easier and faster than I expected. I was thinkning maybe twice yearly myself, when I apply the wax.
