I started noticing the condenser fan on my 08 xB will make a high pitched whine. It sometimes does it while it's on and other times it will do it when its powering off. Anyone know if this means it's on it way out and just needs a motor replacement? Also any ideas where I can source one? I'm having difficulty finding one.

Sounds like a fan motor bearing is on its way out.

I would avoid just putting in a fan motor and get the whole assembly if possible.

Depending upon how the motor is affixed to the housing, it can be really tricky to get it just right and that fan could vibrate something fierce if not installed perfectly.

It's kinda like the GM ps pumps with the housing attached, just get the whole thing and be done with it.

Rock Auto has a single condenser fan assembly for $50 and a dual fan unit for $100. Not expensive by any means. A few mounting screws and a fan plug and it's in and out

Thanks, I will get on that asap.

Is this what you are referring to?

I've decided to buy it off amazon and the complete dual fan assembly so I can get it by tomorrow and work on it this weekend.

Any difference between these two minus the price?

Yeah, and Amazon says both fit, which is why I'm confused. I tried autozone's website and it says Dorman 621-397 fits, not 621-369.

One states with AC, could the other one be for a vehicle without ac?

Make sure the mounting points look like your original and you should be set.
