This is from a bunch of used oil filters I picked up from the dealer. Unknown miles etc... But every Denso I cut looked good and did its job. This filter was drained before I cut it open. ADBV on these densos are always soft and hold the oil in. Enjoy!

Yeah dealer usually get newer cars. Most of the toyota filters I cut were the same. I'll post more when I get the chance.

DENSO for me.

No tear cause of good glue job

I wish Honda had a quality OEM filter the way Toyota does with Denso filters. Honda OEM filters are FRAM! UGH

No wide open pleats and no brittle media keeps the tearing risk low.

You would need to take a close look at Honda A01 made by Filtech---heavy duty & the bypass control is a work of art

Looks good - a unique design and I don't think we've ever seen one that had any internal damage or manufacturing flaws.

I do find it strange that the Denso First Time Fit aftermarket filters don't use the same design.

Denso aftermarket and OEM filters are practically identical -- all made in Thailand. Here is the 90915-YZZF2 clone.

I don't know if the cute internals translate into better filtration. Yes, there is probably nothing to tear because it uses a freely mounted cartridge -- same cartridge as in cartridge-type engines. However, I don't know how well it seals and more imprortantly if the efficiency is low as alleged, it's poor filtration.
