polishing pad (hexpads) colors - fakes?

Gone the whole hog.

Got myself a Rupes Bigfoot 21 mk2. A whole set of pads and compounds. Just experimenting now with different pads/compounds on different cars.

Woww all I can say. The bigfoot is awesome. The cheap 8mm polisher had virtually no impact on the scratches compared to the bigfoot. It sliced through them like a hot knife through butter.
All I need now is the Rupes mini!

Nice machine, I found I only need two compounds and a hand glaze from 3M to do any job including old school lacquer, enamels and base/clear. Top with carnauba wax and you have a perfect finish.
Over the years I have tried many the boutique compounds/polishes and none of it is better and most cost more money, its just a better mouse trap with a catchy name and label. Don't fall for the many step programs a lot of these products offer. Cut it, polish it, remove the swirls and protect it is all you need then maintain it.

One of the most underrated waxes IMO, less expensive but it gives a nice shine and seems to last.
