Do I want a 2009 Avalon with 202k on it?

Best of luck to you. That even if it's a Toyota it doesn't mean it's going to run forever. A big part of it is how it was maintained, how it was driven, how well it was assembled, and a mixture of luck. Check to make sure that it's not leaking oil out the timing chain cover, check for any evidence of head gasket leaks both internal and external. Check to make sure that the transmission is working right. And pray for help making the right decision.

Someone who actually knows what they’re talking about.

If no proof that it has already been done, I'd budget for replacing all the struts, probably the front control arms and sway bar end links, belt(s), hoses, anti-freeze, ATF, and water pump. Get that piece of mind you can go another 100K with minimal issues.

I would! This retailed around $7,000 with 100k miles. I paid $5,300 with 146,000.

Had $2,300+ worth of dealership work before I bought mine.

I absolutely love my car. Worth far more. I’ve put 7,000 miles on the odometer since we purchased it. I’ve owned a lot of vehicles over the years. This is one of the best purchases I’ve made.

For sure, they have the best engine and transmission on the planet !!!!!
I had an 09 Camry V6 with same 2GR-FE engine that got totaled at 135K miles. I had to buy a replacement quickly ... so bought a new at the time 2021 Camry SE 4 CYL for replacement. I despise the 4 cyl engine ... I thought I'd get used to it ... but ... despite having plenty of power, it lacks the smooth effortless power of the V6. Too bad the government EPA essentially forced these 4 cyl engines on us.

Seems like all attention is on how long the engine lasts, there is way more to a car or vehicle than an engine. Door seals, window regulators, heater cores, suspension etc. all degrade with age and miles. Transmission, were all the fluid changes done with the correct fluid? Miles, age the temperature of where the car lived can affect all the rubberish parts such as seals, suspension bushings, door seals and what ever else. Just go on forums for various car models and see the sort of trouble some have with high mile older cars and trucks.
200K and 15 years is time for some of the electrical to start degrading, and some times its a case of "NOT AVAILABLE" for some of the electrics.
Vibration does its thing to solder on circuit boards as well as temperature extreams.
I would not pay that much. If it was 120K miles then yeah.
