06 Escalade AWD 6.0L 140k. Recently experiencing a blue/brown cloud of smoke at startup. Only happens after sitting for a couple of days. Burns no oil, no topoffs during a 7k OLM OCI. Smoke smells like a clutch or brakes. Something burning. Asbestos like.

Any idea what could cause that?

Yeah I had that problem with an old Camry. But it consumed oil, it was obvious. This engine doesn't consume any oil. Tailpipe is spotless. No soot. And it doesnt smell like carbon. Smells like a slipping clutch lol

Could an injector be leaking fuel into the cylinder causing it to be rich on start up?

A couple drops in the cylinders can make smoke - I have a low hour outboard - tight, tight, engine.
But forget to tilt the prop up (inline pistons angled in wrong direction) and it smokes plenty when you crank ...

Oil in the intake manifold running down into the cylinders.

My Jag did this once, but I drove it extremely hard just before parking it and my best guess was leaking injectors. It hasn't happened since.

Doesn't always fly out. There's chambers in the muffler they can pack up.
