I think someone here should be able to point you in the right direction. If your truck takes the 3614(fram/supertech number) size, a ST16, ST3600, and ST8 will fit, given enough room.

For a filter cutter, I just use a can opener and screwdriver work fine on most filters.

A (P)L20195 is a 4.8" long version of a (P)L10241.

The (P)L30001 has a slightly larger gasket than the above filters. It's just the old standard "Ford" filter from the late 50's on.

The (P)L24458 is considered to be "the" Honda oversize at 4.1" long.

My wife's 3.0 Ford V6 specs the FL400s (L20195), but I am running a FL1A (L30001) on it with no problem. I know the gasket is slightly different size, but after measuring the 3.0 and my engine that takes an FL1A, it was ok. See the Wix filter site as they give the gasket sizes.

Just wondering if there is a one stop web based look-up for comparing all the specs that the part books have? Basically I'm looking for oversized filters for my 91 4runner with a V6 that I just bought used with 150k miles. The Toyota dealer had installed a stock Toyota filter that is longer than the PL10241 filters I just bought. IS there a oversize Pure One filter that will work. It doesn't appear to have the clearance for the PL30001 that I use on my 85 Toyota 22R. I've been running Mobil 1 or Pure ONE filters for 3 + years on my Toyota 22r with a carburetor and on my 93 Civic LX. The Civic uses a standard size however I'd like to go oversize on that after my current stock inventory is gone.

Also looking for a resonably priced oil filter cutter. Not going to use a dremel, hacksaw or chisel. I like the avaiation type I used back when I worked as an A & P however paying $50 to 100 is a bit steep. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Crusader

I just checked the Purolator book and I found an interesting oil flow GPM difference.
PL30001 (Fram # PH8A) 4 gpm
PL10241 "Shorty" and the longer 4.1" PL20195 is 3gpm Theoretically there has to be more flow with the PL20195 over the PL10241 but the book rounds it up a full number.

Unfortunately I don't have the clearance to run the PL30001 on my 91 4runner however I've been running these huge ones on my 22r for years.

I special order the Purolator Premium Plus L40017 at Advance Auto. They get it in a day and it cost me $6. No other parts supplier around me will order it. Don't know if there are Advance Auto in Canada though. Also the L40017 has the bypass in the threaded end, just like a Motorcraft. The other brands of long version include Wix 51773, NAPA 1773 (get the Gold), and Fleetguard LF697 (which flows nearly 16 gpm, but not filter as finely).
