Zuckerberg & his mega yacht

I bet its a dream job to captain that ship, and the other jobs onboard are probably good to. He helps employ many directly, and indirectly with it, so good for him.

You want hypocrites, look at every one who flies in a jet to a pollution meeting.
Some guy not wining about polution, can do whatever they want to in my book.

Don't let it distract you from the fact that it's the poor people's responsibility to make better life choices and help with global warming. 🤡
Very good point that many seem to overlook. “Do as I say, not as I do.”

I personally don’t care what one does with their money, but being told my ICE SUV is killing the environment while they travel the globe in a mega yacht or private jet is just hypocrisy.

Apologies; I don't keep up with mega rich. Has Zuckerberg been at the forefront of global warming policies? being a spokesperson for how others need to reduce their carbon footprint, etc. I don't care about carbon cutting at Amazon, his business is separate from his personal views (and arguably, what Amazon is doing at any given time may be directed by lower level VP's).
Not Amazon,

Mark Zuckerberg is the founder, chairman and CEO of Meta, formerly Facebook, since 2004

I LOVE TO SEE USA COMPANIES SUCCEED!

It’s not only about him, it’s the people (including me) who invest in his company.
META up 40% in value in just the last nine months. Of course I’m late to the game with only a 40% gain in 9 months but I’m looking forward to much more, if I hold and don’t sell.

However anyone, who believed in what he was working on, growing his company, you could have joined him and invested your own income much like he did at the start. If you did invest. In the last 13 years you would have had a return on your investment in his company of 1,700% and still growing

I don't believe in making money off people's personal information. So I will pass on investing in Facebook. Although I may have some in mutual funds I am invested in.

All good, I have no problem with what you said. Im much the same. However, you do realize anytime you go on any website you are supporting them with advertising dollars. That is what Facebook does, advertise to over 3 billion people, same as any internet company. Google, Microsoft and all independent websites as well as the Amazons and Walmarts of the world.
All I am saying is Facebook is not different. Though I use Apple products to stop them (and the others) from tracking me 24/7 when I am not using their services as well as other options to limit my exposer to them ONLY when I am using their services.
(in case you dont know, I am agreeing with you!)

All is good, for me. I'll invest anyplace on earth that I can get a solid legal return on my money. You are correct though, if you are in mutual funds you are solidly invested in all the above companies. :)

This thread made me curious, about the guy. Typically I dont care when investing.
Seems like a decent guy, Got a BEAUTIFUL boat for sure. Guy worked for it and this is what makes this a great country, work hard, work smart. I dont make someone a villain for being successful. Thank god for them in this country or there would be no jobs.

Check out the full photo in the link above. To get an idea of the size. Check out that TINY figure of a person on the bow.

PS. I dont think you will see a trail of black diesel smoke coming from those engines :)

Freedom is (was?) what made it such a great country.

Actually - that would limit where it can go - for example in the Med - it’s low sulfur diesel there …
As I stated before - the better fuels will become like electric windows - eventually everything has them …
I watched a show about bunker oil vs Diesel in container ships. The bunker oil is much cheaper and produces more power so they burn it where they can. There are zones where low sulphur diesel must be used and there are huge fines if you don't. The ship featured in the show was going to enter the North Sea and they had it calculated down to the minute when they needed to switch over to diesel. They had to account for the fuel in all the fuel lines and filters so everything is filled with diesel and burning diesel by the time they hit a particular latitude and longitude. I think they started switching over like 45 minutes ahead of time or something. The fuel system is huge on those ships.

Hopefully they are thoughtful on where they swap tanks - like nowhere near a bridge 🌉

Mark Zuckerberg sent his mega yacht to Fuji so he could join it there and surf. Then after it got there he changed his mind and the yacht was directed to Port Everglades. Burned 400,000 liters of diesel

Now I just read his yacht was not burning diesel but rather bunker fuel. That's just being cheap and not caring about the black smoke coming out of your exhaust
Lizards like it warm.

I have no problem with excess. "Reap what you sow" kind of thing.

But, dont stand on a podium and tell me that I should not do something, when circumstances like what you propose above exist.

How many DPF filter do you think the military has in their pickup trucks? Heavy duty trucks? 0.00%

Our local Canadian military still runs 2003-2005 Silverado 2500hd Duramax pre dpf trucks.
