The pinhead reporter couldn't get through the 2nd sentence in the article without mentioning gas prices.

I felt the article was written in a fashion that shows the GM is off-base in offering such a "gas hog" vehicle. Yet the reporter himself makes no mention of "if you can afford the car, you're not worried about the gas" as he relegates that obvious bit of common sense to a quote from the GM guy.

Even when America hits a home-run (like this ZR-1), the press member has to contrast it with bad news. Gets old, really.

I tip my hat to GM, I'd love to get behind the wheel of one of them!!!

Man, that is funny. If you are purchasing a ZR-1 and you are worried about gas prices, perhaps you need to re-think your decision.

I certainly would love to take one for a spin. I'd love to take one to the track against my friend's 08 Porsche 911 Turbo. :)

I agree wholeheartedly. Whenever America builds a nice car somebody talks [censored] just because it is American made! If this car were Japanese or English or German people would do nothing but laud it's performance for the price. As it is...

please. there are people on this board w/ exotic cars that switch brands of oil to save a few bucks.
and I agree, ZR-1 owners are the same lot as those w/ yachts and summer homes. gasoline is a VERY small part of their monthly budget.

Yes, but trying to save a few bucks on brands of oil is different than deciding whether or not to purchase an exotic sports car because gas is over 4.00 a gallon. People are NOT buying these to be daily drivers.

I can assure you, gas prices will not be the reason if Chevy does not move units of the ZR-1.

Actually, that's the whole discussion about the ZR1 v. the GT-R. The ZR1 recently completed a faster track time at Nürburgring than the GT-R.

The import fanbois are nervous.

Thanks so much for stating that! The Nissan times were also from a flying start.

Say what you want Import fans...
