I ended up adding another coat of Z5 to the hood of my car yesterday morning, and then this morning I added more Z5 to the entire car. I decided to try that 12 year old bottle of Z6 to see how it worked out and it did just fine! So I'll use up that bottle first before buying a fresh one.

I went out yesterday and bought a fresh bottle of Z5 as well as Z2, so I'll probably do a coat of Z2 next weekend or the weekend after, and see if I notice a difference in the shine. Although even as it stands now I'm very happy with my results.

Get some Z8, it's so easy an Italian can do it

I did some "Googling" today about the differences between Z6 and Z8 and it seems that a few people think Z8 is a bit of a pain to work with and doesn't really look any different than Z6 (which is super easy to use) So I'll stick with Z6 for now.

I can see a small difference and don't find Z8 difficult to use.

There isn't a big difference. I doubt anyone but the person applying it would notice.

I used Z8 over my last coat of Z2 on my 82 MB. The Z2 seemed harder to work with than the Z5, and the Z8 did too, compared to the Z6... Id guess it was because the Z6 flashes off quicker.

But the Z8 also supposedly has extra UV inhibitors, and so Ill gladly put up with a more difficult product for that.

While I have not had much trouble w/Z8, I have heard of some people cutting it anywhere from 25-50% with distilled water to make it less finicky.

IMO the difference between Z6 & Z8 is that Z6 is clearly a detail spray, whereas Z8 is more of a spray sealant, similar to AquaWax. The Z8 clearly lasts longer than the Z6.

Z8 was reformulated a couple years ago and I find the newer version much less likely to streak.

I'm the type that uses detailing spray almost every single day (except in the winter of course) so I'll probably stick with the Z6 for daily use and perhaps I'll buy some Z8 and save it just for special occasions
