I have read through a ton of older threads here and in other forums but obviously it's personal preference but was wondering if there are any new oils to try for my newly built vg30dett motor... Street driven but some drag days high hp goals 600+

So far I've been told
Mobil 1
Redline
Motul
All in 15w-50 weights. For the price it seems Mobil 1 can't be beat but is the other stuff worth the money? I'm diligent with my oil changes and the car isn't going to driven a ton so I don't mind spending for better motor oil if it'll help

Mobil 1 15W-50 is probably your best bet - easy to get, and very well-regarded for HP applications.

built...9:1 compression (didn't want to go 10:1 but still wanted something higher for e85 figured its a good mix for both 93 and e85) modded built rods pistons full head work

he recommended motul 300 5w-40 after running break in oil and conventional oil for a bit

So there you go. Run Motul 5W-40 or an oil that meets similar specifications, such as Pennzoil or Castrol 5W-40, or a 0W-40 from Mobil, Castrol, or Pennzoil.

I wouldn't jump straight to a 15W-50. The engine didn't originally need it, and your builder doesn't reccomend it now.

If you're going to run E85, ensure that the oil you choose is E85 compatible (All Ester Blends will be as will anything containing Alkylated Naphthalene's as part of the brew.)

As E85 is more prone to oil contamination, especially in cold environments it's just something to consider. If in doubt a phone call to your oil supplier of choices customer support hot line should be able to answer these questions. From a bit of quick google searching, it appears as though there is a specific test as part of the API-SN standard to ensure that E85 fuel and API-SN rated oils are 100% miscible. So I'd start there.

Personal pick would be Shell Helix Ultra 5W40 (AKA: Pennnzoil Platinum 5W40 Euro.) SN rated, also BMW-LL-01 and Porsche A40.

Jordan
