Youtube Oil Experts

The whole notion of “YouTube Oil Experts” is a non sequitur as far as I’ve seen. As much as some uninformed people like to disparage PhD scientists, they are the experts. And so far I haven’t seen any on YouTube. Perhaps I’m not looking, or don’t care to look.

Experts don’t include some goofy dood who tests oils with a wear scar machine and also does knife and hammer tests on the side. Nor does it include a guy with a marketing degree.

If people think these are the experts then you’re seriously mistaken.

PF never, ever claimed or otherwise presented himself as an 'oil expert". He gives his observation, and leaves it at that.
His observations don’t translate into use WHAT SO EVER so doing oil show downs and brackets is super annoying. Even more annoying is Amsoil using that nonsense as advertising material. For example his bearing test has been shown useless in an engine application and his cold “flow” test have shown to be useless in cold “pump” ability. He just tallied up additive count with disregard to balance, type or effectiveness and whichever had the most was scored better. Yet he spent WEEKS bracketing oils based on this nonsense AND declaring a winner. I’d say that’s a little more than observation. He does do some useful testing but OIL is not one of them. He doesn’t have the equipment, money, time or knowledge to present rankings the way he did. He might have the money the way that was eaten up lol.

Simple solution. Don't like it, don't watch it. Thats what I do with Scotty and LSJr.

I think that the generation of improved AI videos is one of the most dangerous aspects of AI. A bunch of damage can be done with a simple video.

"A picture is worth 1000 words" sort of thing.

If you can make the picture whatever you want, you can have anyone in your back pocket.

Imagine some guy comes up with a picture of you committing a serious crime...... Or a video of you cheating on your wife. Or, any other like situation you can think of. What would you be willing to do to not have that picture or video made public? My guess is that most would do almost anything.

Amsoil used PF video? What what??

I didn’t say they used it but as far as I’m concerned this acknowledgment of the “trophy” (like real testing was done) on a video with over 2 millions views is advertising both PF and the results.
