9 OIL FILTERS CUT AWAY ( LOOK INSIDE)

Here was a nice review of a few more popular filters and a cat making a brief appearance.

What do you guys think of the low end STP filter? I always go for that if they have it in stock; I can't quite figure from the looks of it in the video how well the bypass function would work on this? Ideas (or opinions on the stp)??

The narrator doesn't seem to completely understand how these filters work, or perhaps he just doesn't express his understanding well. The STP is an Ecore, and I don't like them for two reasons: One, the combination ADBV and bypass. Not sure how nitrile rubber can be fine-tuned like a spring can. Two, the plastic cage in the core that has much larger openings than steel center cores.

Also, all you get from these types of comparisons is a general look at construction. We can't tell anything about performance from this. Still, it's nice to see the details of what's inside. The Napa ProSelect also uses a combination ADBV and bypass like the Ecore. The others have separate bypass valves.
