So I recently came to my wife's home country of El Salvador to take a nice little vacation, and we are staying at her sister's house. She has a nice little Toyota Yaris (not sure the exact year but it has just short of 90k miles) , which is just like my Corolla that I drive. I popped the hood, opened the oil cap and immediately had a panic attack. I will be changing the oil and ATF later today and will post, but I know this is not normal as my Corolla has 70k miles and my oil fill hole is shiny. I assume the Yaris gets the occasional 30k oil change based on the looks. Will update with pics later.

Sorry for the wait, currently having an OCD anxiety attack trying to get wife's sister to let me change the oil. After a drive last night I took a pic of the oil cap and that really got my anxiety up more. Should be changing soon as I keep telling them every day to let me change the oil . 🤣😭

Still twiddling my thumbs waiting to change the oil so I decided to clean the throttle body today. For curious minds..

Drain and fill with Valvoline Restore & Protect and immediately fly back home. Guarantee you will be dis-owned as a brother-in-law in several weeks.

You had to use that particular finger?😊
Seriously though, there didn't seem to be a sense of urgency on their part to do the oil change, almost like they were doing you a favor. Not to be spiteful but I would have left the oil alone considering what the fallout could be if something was to go awry. Can't blame you for being a good guy though.
Cheers...

Nothing unusual here……..that’s the typical Toyota baffle. It’s not part of the cars valve train, but if it bothers you, get a rag soaked in kerosene or diesel and wipe to your hearts content!

Also, that view on the bottom side of the fill cap is nothing to get upset about! Again, if it bothers you, wipe away…….

BTW, what was the outcome of your panic attack?✋😎🤚
