Y-pipe single exhaust - VS - True dual exhaust

Gasses cool (and shrink in volume) as the get further from the port in the head. The system must take this into account to maintain velocity. Where do you drive 90% of the time? 2,500 to 3,500; or over 4,000. Truck systems have been designed to work hard at sustained RPM (not race RPM), so what the engineers figured is the best compromise (all exhaust systems are compromises).

Single is fine up to 3,500. If you spend hours a day over that, you'll want something else ...

I'm running a single 3" exhaust on my 83 Silverado, transitions at the Y off the exhaust coming off the manifolds to a Magnaflow high flow cat on to a 40 series Flowmaster with dual 2.5 exhaust ports., what an improvement when dumping the factory pancake cat and small tube exhaust

So which one of these exhaust systems will do better on my 5.6 liter Nissan Titan?

So which one of these exhaust suystems do u think will do best? I posted the 2 pics of 2 diff. exhaust systems. Than you!

As mentioned above the power difference will be negligible between various performance exhausts.

I prefer the sound of a large pipe single exhaust on a typical V8. However the dual exhaust you have pictured above is an H pipe design and will sound similar to the large single. As there is a blending of all 8 cylinders in both sides.

In any case, the one thing I truly dislike is the hash sound of hollow chambered mufflers. I much prefer large turbo style mufflers like the 3 inch walker super turbo. Deep and smooth, not harsh and raspy.

respectfully, why do you say that?

I just agree with others that the difference in power will be small. Also, I say that because I've had a few vehicles over the years where I preferred the Dual exhaust for aesthetic reasons. However, if you like the look of duals but don't think you need them you can also use a muffler with dual outlets. I have also done that before since you get the "dual exhaust look" without true dual pricing. Just my two cents

Didn't we just do this? I though we were talking about Titan exhaust not long ago.

Between those two you need the specs to figure out which one flows more, there's information on the web on how to figure based on pipe size, this is probably a simple math problem, but I try to to avoid math at every opportunity. Assuming WRD is a reputable brand and it appears to be stainless steel assuming it had sufficient flow capacity based on pipe size I would pick that one based on the fact it appears to have fewer 90 degree bends and doesn't have 4 tips.

I doubt you would be able to tell the difference from the driver seat if you couldn't hear them.
