Came across a 2017 Chevy ss supercharged ls3 with under 50k miles. More likely than not the vehicle was extremely abused, which causes numerous second hand risks. Seller is asking $30k USD (late add to this post).

What do you pay for this SS with a locked engine? I have a price in mind, would enjoy hearing your price. Supplemental, I suspect there may be a lien on the vehicle. Additionally, many lawyers that deal with these types of clients will take a paid off vehicle as a retainer- so that in itself is a flag.

Other comments/ observations from the listing:

  • States vehicle condition is used- like new
  • No pictures of the seats
  • Rear license plate is not displayed
  • No VIN provided
  • No information stating things like
    • lien/ no lien
    • who's name the title is in
    • clear or rebuilt title
  • Pictures are very select/ wisely taken to show on a narrative the seller wants to show
    • pictures indicate a very savvy seller
    • very savvy sellers likely don't have the alleged (specific) legal issue this seller claims (not that dirtball sellers don't have legal issues, usually just not this implied issue)

Here is the writeup from the seller:
Got in trouble with police and will need to sell car, motor just locked up today. Has magnuson 2300 heartbeat supercharger, kooks long tube headers and mid pipe. Ctsv converter, cnc ported heads with dual valve spring from outlaw racing engines, stg2 Lsa boost cam, arp headstuds, arp crank bolt, arp exhaust manifold bolts, ls7 lifters with ls9 head gaskets. Made 5-600 wheel. Automatic. Need gone asap to cover lawyer.

Also- there is a monster/very significant flag in one of the pictures that may talk more about the seller than anything he posted in the advertisement.

Wonder if anyone will catch it.

Well, since you don't know if it's a salvage title or not that is a huge question. Those SS's have a huge cult following at car shows. The supercharger is not stock but you know that I presume. I am thinking it should be worth at least 9500.00. The paint looks well cared for but I don't like the gangster drug dealer type of black tinted windows which look illegal. Chances are pretty good it's been thrashed like a rented pony however with the extreme power of an added on supercharger they will blow. Personally I do not like that color and a red, black, white, silver or blue would be much more desirable. I think it will probably sell for $9500 since those LS engines are easy to find. Most people will not want to buy a used supercharger and modifications do not necessarily make vehicle worth more but they just sell faster. Not sure what KBB is on those but I see lots of really nice ones at car shows and I remember when they went really cheap and they bring good money now.

I suspect you may be addressing the "Kill Crew" black T-shirt. A clothing brand that allegedly supports people with mental health challenges & issues.

$30k? They are dreaming. I wouldn’t pay a penny for that. If I actually wanted the vehicle and a project I might pay something but I don’t.

I am surprised at all the comments stating it's not worth much. There are still a lot of young mechanics that would love to own a vehicle like that and bring it back to life. My buddies in high school were very savvy when it came to replacing engines and drag racing as well as making a muscle car better. There are still some of those buyers out there. It's not the engines, transmissions or parts that are expensive it's the labor. Now I noticed the seller wants $30K. Time to move on since you can buy a decent Corvette for that all done and show ready or another Pontiac G8 or an SS.

If this vehicle had no accident history, was a lifetime Arizona vehicle, truly has under $50k miles, and the interior doesn't smell like marijuana (most likely does), and one can get it for a "right price", interesting decision to make to buy or pass.
