XG9688 cut open 6k miles, 14 months

Came off a 1997 Acura RL with super tech 5w30 HM
Oil was changed last on 9/1/23

Replaced with Valvoline 5w30 HM syn blend red bottle and a slightly different XG7317.

Odometer doesn't work but car is not driven that often. I am guessing 6000 miles.

Note the deposits near bypass valve creases.
Otherwise filter definitely caught some dirt in the bottom.

Looks like a sign that dirty oil was flowing through the air gap (leak path) between the leaf spring and end cap.

Yikes. Guess that confirms dirty oil getting past the gaps…. Thanks for the c&p.
