Numbers for the second tank are good. This was a bit of a surprise because last Sat a quarter of a tank was burned in the Coast range on Wolf Creek Rd between Eugene and Florence. There was miles of one lane windy road that required second and third gear.

Btw, the other two cars at my house are running 5W-30 too. '06 Scion tC PP. '92 Honda Civic GC gold. The Honda seems to like the GC at high rpm. But seems a little sluggish at slow speeds. Kinda thick?

**** i must be spending too much for AMSOIL Series 3000 then.

That's because the bypass valve is opening. That is not a good thing. Use the recommended viscosity.

The Castrol Syntec 0W-30 is almost a 40 weight at 12.1 cSt at 100C. The typical 5W-30 is 10.5 cSt at 100C. Many including myself realize sluggishness when using GC in an engine designed for the thinner oil. Oil volume pumped through the engine suffers, as does power and economy.

Try a thinner synthetic next time and compare the hot/cold and highRPM/lowRPM power. The Castrol Syntec 5W-30 is about the thinnest 5W-30 available, and gives very low wear numbers.
