In this thread talking about Wynns Engine Tune-Up,

http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=002156#000000

it lists that the product has two main ingredients, and if you look at the MDS, you will see that one of the properties is the the freezing point of -29*C, but this MDS is from 1999.

If you go to the Wynn's site, they have two Engine Tune Up products, but they both have the same MDS and composition:

You can see that the formualtion has changed, but what I think is more interesting is that the freezing point is now only 0*C.

When I saw that the 'older' formulation of the tune up had such a low freeze point, I was thinking it might be a cheap way to make conventional oil flow better in the dead of winter for short OCI's...but now that doesn't seem to be the case...I'm just suprised that the formualtion change made such a huge difference!

So have you used it yet? It must be 0F or something...sounds like a typo. What oil freezes at the same temp. as water?

I tried it some time last year. Made the engine smoother and quieter, so I put in a second can. The cold-start valve tapping returned after a week, so I can't comment on any long-term discernible changes that may have taken place.

I have used this product in a couple of vehicles with some success. I had an old 1986 Honda Civic with a finiky carb/choke system that used to run rich a lot and was sluggish...I added a can of this stuff, and after a while the motor ran noticeable smoother - I'm assuming it dislodged some carbon in it.

Right now I have it in my Cavalier, and what got me thinking about using it in the winter was that the motor seems to be starting a lot easier, even as the weather is getting colder with it in ....have had it in for about 1,000 km's. I think its a decent product, espec. for the price.

I agree with your point about it being a typo - no oil or lubricant would have the same freezing point as water.....
