Yeah, I've already got a belly full of that and the non-sensical construction zones around here.
My favorite so far is the temporary merge set up onto the interstate next to my hotel. The on-ramp leads you up to the edge of the far right lane on the interstate, which has been narrowed down to one lane in this section, and there they have put a yield sign for traffic trying to merge onto the interstate.
So what that has resulted in is a situation where a line of cars queues up in that "on-ramp", sitting still, and waiting on an opening in the line of cars traveling down the (single lane of) interstate. Then, once that opening presents itself, the lead car in the queue has to GAS IT to jump into that opening and continue on down the road.
As odd-ball as that is, I don't mind it too much, as it gives me a chance to practice my launches from a dead stop without spinning the tires. However, it completely breaks down when the lead car in the queue is being driven by a person beset by indecisiveness. By my count, they will allow at least 2 or 3 opportunities to get into the traffic line pass them by without doing anything to try to get in. After that, the incessant honking of those cars behind them usually forces them to make a decision and GO, GO, GO!!!
I haven't personally witnessed any accidents take place because of this idiocy, but I cannot imagine that none has happened from it yet...
