I know what a timing light is. I don't want that. I know that OBD-II displays ignition timing. I don't want that.
I want is to put a magnetic probe in the probe hole, an inductive pickup on spark plug 1, program in the degree offset of the probe hole, and have a digital readout of the timing so I can monitor the timing during operation without hiring a gnome to hide in the engine.
Better versions would include a tachometer pickup for wireless coils, cancellation for waste spark, an injector pickup for multiple fire injector timing, a bolt-your-own magnetic pickup, and a timing light hookup to check accuracy.
So far as I can tell such a device simply does not exist.
